Challenge
Business events generate valuable networking data. But without a structured way to collect and manage it, that information was lost the moment the event ended. Organisers had no way to capture attendee details at registration, and staff on the ground had no tool to track, annotate or prioritise leads in real time.
Goal
To build an end-to-end networking system in two phases.
Phase 1: enhance the registration process by introducing customisable registration forms, triggerable pre- or post-checkout. This meant extending the existing custom questions functionality with broader question and input type support, and building a WYSIWYG form constructor on the admin side.
Phase 2: put those forms to work as a lead generation tool — a scanner app for staff to capture attendee QR codes, enrich their profile with real-time notes and priority tags, and export the full lead list for post-event analysis.
Discovery
The form builder was grounded in UX research into best practices across leading form builder tools, extended from custom question types already present on the platform.
The scanner app was brief-driven, shaped by the operational realities of business events and staff workflows in the field.
